Steampunk card

I had a card to make for my brother in law and was stumped until I saw the first of Tim Holtz's 12 tags for 2013 - such great ideas.  I didn't have all the bits but improvised a bit and then attached my tag to a card.  Only problem I had was finding an envelope to fit after I'd stuck that car over the edge - duh!  Anyway, I'm sure my card will go down well and thanks Tim for the inspiration.  Have you seen the sneak peeks of his new stuff?  Oh, there's lots there I would love.

Ah well, time to take the Christmas decorations down tonight and then I'll have to dust!  What a chore.....

Thanks for coming by.

A stunning composition and I love that there is so much for the eye to absorb, different images, texture, etc.
At Fashionable Stamping Challenge we have a "Surprise Me" theme - really, it means anything goes and as you have stamping on your card it fits in with our entry rule - just a thought.

  2. I have a bunch of the little bits and pieces for Steampunk. I took a jewelry class last year and they gave us a bunch of stuff. Wish I would have stuck some in your package. The card is great. Do you have clubs, groups or crops that you go to. What kind of stores do you have there. We have Archivers. Alot of our smaller stores have closed their doors. We also have JoAnn's and Michaels. Interesting to know what you have for resources.

  8. Love your card and I'm petty sure he's going to love it too! You can probably make your own envelope. That's what I do. They're not always perfect but it works:)

  10. I love this card - and I am sure your brother-in-law will too. I often look to Tim Holtz for inspiration and usually find I don't have all the things I need to make the item. There is a lot of fun to be had by finding suitable alternatives. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Love from Laura xxx

  12. Very manly and charming. I love Tim Holtz stuff too ... such goodies. Oh, and remember you can always make an envelope to fit, a cute one too, as you can line it with paper which compliments the card. Just lay the card down and draw a light penciled rectangle that will enclose it. Draw triangular flaps that come off each each side of the rectangle, cut out and fold and glue three triangles in place (with patterned paper inside) and glue the last one after you enclose the card .... OK, I am sure you have done it before, but with all the work on the card, the envelope would be a piece of pie, so to speak. Very nice!
