Crochet bag for a little girl

I made this bag following Sara's pattern here:  http://www.tangledhappy.com/2010/11/granny-stripe-boutique-bag.html  Really like how its turned out and I'm sending it to a good friend of mine for her granddaughter.  It only took me a couple of hours to make too.  Busy making a crochet scarf now for a friend's birthday so not much papercrafting getting done!
Sara has some lovely patterns on her blog so if you're into crochet, its certainly worth a look.

Waiting for the postman!

Had to post this gorgeous pic of my lovely doggies Serge (the tricolour) and Branden (the brown and white).  They love visitors, especially the postman, and are sitting waiting patiently for him to arrive.

Hope you like it!

Less is More Challenge - Theme Masking - Week 59

This week's challenge at Less is More  http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/ is to produce a CAS card with some masking involved.  I must admit to struggling with this technique but its good to try new things.  I used the free stamp of the Easter Hares from Craft Stamper which I really like, masked that and then created the meadow behind them with the lovely Kanban stamps called Spring Meadow and a selection of inks.  I also created a cloud in the sky with a cut out shape then stamped the birds on that.  Here it is and I think its going to be an Easter card for my Mum!
Here's the stamps and the inks I used for the card.  I think this set is going to be so useful!
Thanks for calling in to have a look.  I really appreciate any comments you leave me.

Wow, can't believe what I've won!

So thrilled to hear this morning that I won first prize in the Swirlydoos blog hop!  You can see their fabulous scrapbooking kits here:  www.swirlydoos.com   When introducing their new French Quarter kit, they had a blog hop which was great fun seeing what everyone had done with the gorgeous Glitz French Kiss papers and the Swirlydoos embellishments.  I really enjoyed it but never expected to win the whole kit so can't wait for that to arrive and start playing.  So it really does pay to enter all these giveaways and competitions - you just never know when it will be your turn to win.  Wonder if its worth me buying a Lotto ticket this week???

Less is More Challenge - one layer script - Week 58

Been a busy week but at last I managed to get my card done for this challenge http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2012/03/week-58-one-layer-script.html
The script is actually on the stamp so I feel a bit of a cheat but I do like this stamp and the sentiment too.
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might be good enough to leave me.

Less is More Challenge - Colour Neutrals - Week 57

Hmmm - this one made me think and I had to see what others had done before giving it a go.  The Less is More challenge is here http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/ for anyone not familiar with it.  Not sure about this card but I thought I'd make it for my sister as this stamp reminds me of when we were little (a long, long time ago!!)
Went to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel yesterday with my Mum.  What a brilliant film with Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel amongst others and my favourite line was "It'll be all right in the end, and if its not all right - its not the end"  That one will be going in a card of mine shortly!  Thanks for stopping by.

Circle book - decorated inside!

Played around decorating the inside of my circle book today.  The poem inside is by an American poet I hadn't heard of before but I do like her work.  She was Sara Teasdale 1884 - 1933 and the poem is called Morning.  The verse in my book says:
"I went out on an April morning,
All alone for my heart was high.
I was a child of the shining meadow,
I was a sister of the sky"

Thanks for stopping by - I do appreciate it.

A lovely little circle book

Here's a book I made today after being inspired by Gen here http://cabinfeveredgem.blogspot.com/2012/01/flip-out-circle-photo-book.html where there's a really good video tutorial.  Sorry I haven't got a pic of the inside yet but I've got to decorate it yet!
The papers and embellishments are from the new Almanac collection from Prima - they are gorgeous.  Thanks for stopping by - always pleased to read any comments.
