Our Creative Corner Top Talent Thursday

I was honoured to be selected on Our Creative Corner as a Top Talent Thursday and to be invited by Sue to take part in a short question and answer session and a showcasing of a project.

Here's a little taster of my project but to see it in full you'll have to pop over to Our Creative Corner.  The pictures were taken outside on one of the very few sunny days we've had recently so they came our really well.  Nothing like a bit of natural light!

This project was inspired by two books by Angela Cartwright and Sarah Fishburn.  They are called In This House and In This Garden and are full of the most amazing and inspiring artwork plus loads of elements (including the house template) for you to photcopy and use in your own art.  I had loads of fun making this project, adding stamping, collage and bits from my stash.

Once I'd cut a few pages from some sturdy card, I mainly used the fabulous Websters Pages papers to cover them and then the words from the books to highlight the decoration of the pages.  I added a little pocket on the last page to hold a gift tag for the recipients.  When I had finished playing, I punched holes in the side of the pages, popped in some book rings so that the pages could turn easily and then tied on some Laura Ashley ribbons I'd been hoarding.  Hope you like my little book and pop over to see the full version plus my answers to Sue's very interesting questions.  Thanks so much Sue - it was a very enjoyable experience!

  1. Hello Margie
Just to say I love your little book, I have never made one but you have inspired me to attempt one for my grand-daughter. It was a pleasure to present you Margie and I am thankful that you took the time to enter a Challenge on OCC, otherwise I would never have found you, I will be following you as I love your work.
    Smiles:)

Your little home is just wonderful and certainly will be a treasured keepsake Margie. I had the most wonderful time reading about you on OCC and had to come over and check out your blog too. I can't believe you live in a 200 year old cottage. Your description of your home and the surroundings sound incredibly enchanting!! Congratulations on being the Top Talent and I too am now following your work. :)
Hugs and I hope you have a wonderful crafty weekend.
