Cake, anyone?

Hee, hee - I've really enjoyed making these little cakes for a sketch our Women's Institute is putting on for the village concert in February.  The idea will be that the cakes get thrown into the audience during the sketch which should provide some laughter, even if our acting and singing abilities aren't so good!  Got a few more to make but I've had to move the plate somewhere safe because one of my dogs thinks they look just too tempting.

The snow is still falling and is about 8 inches deep in our garden.  Good excuse to stay indoors by the fire but we are all getting a little stir-crazy.  Hope it clears by the weekend and we can get out for a nice walk.  Hope everyone who has snow is keeping cozy and warm.

Lovely paper purse

Oh, I've really enjoyed myself this afternoon making this little paper purse from the template provided by the very talented Rebecca at Paper Primrose   Its been snowing on and off all day so what better excuse for sitting by a lovely log fire with my doggies and doing some crafting - perfect!  Hope everyone who is having snow is managing to keep warm and cozy too.

Busy making some little cards to go inside and will be giving it to my good friend Becky who broke her leg badly some months ago and was just getting better when she tore the tendons in her fingers over the weekend - talk about bad luck.  So she needs some cheering up and I reckon this little gift will help.  Thanks for stopping by.

Steampunk card

I had a card to make for my brother in law and was stumped until I saw the first of Tim Holtz's 12 tags for 2013 - such great ideas.  I didn't have all the bits but improvised a bit and then attached my tag to a card.  Only problem I had was finding an envelope to fit after I'd stuck that car over the edge - duh!  Anyway, I'm sure my card will go down well and thanks Tim for the inspiration.  Have you seen the sneak peeks of his new stuff?  Oh, there's lots there I would love.

Ah well, time to take the Christmas decorations down tonight and then I'll have to dust!  What a chore.....

Thanks for coming by.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and a special welcome to my lovely new followers.  Its been a very busy time for us with our eldest son and daughter-in-law's 10th wedding anniversary, my Mum's 90th birthday as well as Christmas and New Year to celebrate.  We all had a great time and it was really good to get together with my sister's family who are also quite scattered around now.  Mum had a wonderful time but DID NOT WANT TO BE 90!  She made that quite clear and asked us not to give her cards with the dreaded number on them so this was my effort.  She did like the vintage look of it.

I also got a beautiful gift from a dear friend who broke her leg very badly in August and who needed a little extra help which I was very happy to give.  It will take 12 months for her to get back to full strength so there's still a way to go but she is progressing well and we are planning lots of outings now she can bend her leg a little and actually get into the car!  Anyway, I used my new Dylusions sprays to make her a thank you card - a bit scary when they come out of the bottle but I really like the result.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and thank you for stopping by.

Christmas houses

Oh I'm hooked on making these little houses now.  All the cards are done (hopefully) so I don't feel a bit guilty about playing now.  One of these will be for my Mum and the other for a good friend who's house number is 28.  Quite soon I'll have a whole village on display!

Still reeling from the terrible news of the shootings and the senseless loss of innocent lives.  Feeling so sad for the families who have lost a loved one in such a way - words can't express it.

Christmas angel card

Love this stamp I got in my cup of kindness swap from Debby (see previous post) and I managed to make a whole bunch of cards very quickly using this and the free stamp from Craft Stamper for the stars.

I think this little "angel" is going to be inked up a lot - she's so sweet and I can give her a different outfit each time!  Hope everyone's preparations are going well - not long now to the big day.

Cup of kindness swap

Here's my wonderful "cup of kindness" from Debby at Cozy Blanket who hosted the swap and was my partner.  Isn't it just fab - and there was also a lovely glittery handmade heart and a rolled sparking flower which are sitting on top of my little Christmas trees.

It was a brilliant idea and I'm so pleased with all my goodies especially that gorgeous little angel stamp which has been inked up a few times already for my Christmas cards.  Thanks for letting me join in Debby.
