Scissor sister

Really enjoyed making this sewing themed card for a crafty friend's birthday.  You could really go to town with some lovely ribbon instead of the cotton lace I used - see Heather Cserni's great examples and her templates here

Enjoyed a lovely, lazy birthday lunch with my son and daughter in law today so not much getting done tonight!  Feet up, dogs on lap and just relaxing ........

Hope everyone has had  some nicer weather today - I detect the scent of Spring in the air here in Northumberland.

When you have to make a card for a man.......

I usually dread making cards for men but when its for your son, you have to make the effort and it was made much easier with the contents of the goody bag I bought recently.  I stamped the main image on acetate before adding the metal cog and brads to attach it to a piece of card.  I added the picture of the man as I thought it looked a bit like my son would when he gets older - but I didn't tell him that LOL

Been working on a sewing themed card this afternoon - much more to my liking!  Thanks for stopping by and for your very kind comments on my efforts.

Lovely Ladies mini album

I've really enjoyed making this little album for a crafty swap with a friend.  The theme was Lovely Ladies and I found some really nice pics for it, including the one of my gran in the second picture - look at that hair!

Going to my craft group tomorrow so I'm looking forward to catching up with the girls I haven't seen since before Christmas.  Hope everyone enjoyed some love on Valentine's Day.

Thanks so much for visiting - I really appreciate it and any comments you have too. x

Sharing some love

I haven't had much time for crafting for myself lately as I've been busy with props for our village concert.  Loads of knitted and crocheted cakes, outfits for our songs and even crocheted varicose veins!  Yes, if you've ever read Pam Ayres' "The Pole Dancer", you'll understand.  Its going to be a hoot with one of our older ladies taking the main part wearing a blond wig, stuffed bra, pink shorts, black fishnet tights and white high heels!  I'm taking the part of the Night Club manager doing the interview and at last, managed to find a stick-on moustache (otherwise it was going to be a knitted one!)

Anyway, I enjoyed making this little canvas for my dear DIL and used my new Stampsmith stamp for the main image - isn't she gorgeous?  The little hearts were a free stamp from the Craft Stamper ages ago and I got the idea for the canvas from the magazine.

Hope to get back on track with my crafting soon - once the concert is over and I can relax again!  Thanks for looking today.
